Christians: Is it good to pray in tongues when you are alone?

It is fine to pray in tongues when you are alone---I do this every day and no interpreter is necessary. It is not the same gift as speaking in tongues which is done in public and has to have an interpreter. The disciples received the gift of tongues which was praying in tongues when they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:4, but when they were talking later in public it was another gift.
