What is the right mind-set to be considered normal?
Ok. Answering your question. A "normal" mind-set doesn't exist. Normal is just the average of everyone's flaws and..... weirdness. As for some advice? My suggestion to you is, if possible, move yourself to a new environment. If you can't do that then I would suggest making a friend. Just one friend. That's all you need. Find somebody who you think doesn't know of your reputation, or if they do, see if they'll give you a chance. There will always be someone out there that would love to be your friend. I was always mad fun of as a child. That experience has made me seclude myself from others. I have ONE friend. She's my best friend and the only thing that keeps me sane. She's the only person I talk to and the only person I need. Spending time at their house is a big help too. When I leave my house to spend time with her my whole attitude and mind-set goes from extremely negative and pessimistic to positive and uplifting.
