Name this horror film?

I saw a piece of this walking through a party back in 1990 so it must pre-date that. A man is being messed with horribly by some force. He's in a room and the room starts to pull apart leaving him in nothingness. I don't remember if he's in outer space or just emptiness. He's freaking out, of course.
