Is there something wrong with me?

I had my tonsils and adenoids removed 6 days ago. (one week tomorrow) while at times i get bad bouts of pain and do wake up routinely at 2 am, I haven't had to take any strong pain meds besides Tylenol extra strength and I'm pretty much back to my regular diet. Is this abnormal?
