Question about reyes syndrome?

My brother probably has the flu. I had it this past weekend and he was running a temp of 102 this afternoon. He had a headache and asked my mom if he could take excedrin. She didn't know it had aspirin until she looked on the bottle and saw it.he only took it one time. Should we be extremely worried about reyes syndrome? Is there anything we can do as of right now? Thanks
